Current Opportunities:

  • The The CEE 3954: Bridges, Builders & Society class in Spring 2025 is OPEN for applications! Deadline is December 1st, but apply early for a spot!! Program fee is $3,000 and scholarships are available.

    Students will learn about famous bridge designs, the builders who created them, and the impact on the society where they are located during the Spring 2025 semester course. Students will then visit the communities and bridges to finalize the learning in this class in the United Kingdom from May 18-30, 2025.

    The core purposes of this program are to teach students about the historical development of bridge systems, recognize the social impact of bridges on communities, and to appreciate the aesthetic value of well-designed bridges. Students will be exposed to first-hand interaction with the design and impact of bridges on communities where the bridges exist.

    Gain hands-on project management, critical thinking, intercultural and career skills by exploring famous bridge designs and the builders who created them.

    The program will travel to Wales, Scotland, and England. Cities include Bangor, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Bristol, London, Newcastle upon Tyne, and Plymouth.

  • Fall 2025: CEE Semester Abroad at the Steger Center
    Students will be abroad from August 21-December 10, 2025. Dr. Roberto Leon and Dr. Tripp Shealy are expected faculty leaders.

    Spend your Fall 2025 semester in Europe at the Steger Center in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland! Excursions around Switzerland, Germany, Italy, & The Netherlands will be included in the program..

    Students will take 3 mandatory classes, and a minimum of 1 elective class.
    • CEE 3404: Intro to Structural Engineering (August-October)
    • CEE 3954: Study Abroad: Art & Infrastructure (all semester)
    • CEE 3274: Intro to Land Development (October- December)
    Other courses taught by Steger Center faculty is available for electives.

    Students will pay outlined Steger Center tuition, fees, and room & board (see the Bursar’s website). Additionally, students will have a program fee (TBD) that will cover expenses for field trips, long excursions, transportation in Europe for programmed trips, and several excursion trip meals. Students will need to purchase their own airfare to Europe and back to the USA..
