Department Grade Policy
Students must pass any class (D- or better) that is a Pre-requisite for any CEE course.
Examples
- A student is taking ESM 2104 – Statics, during the fall semester. ESM 2104 – Statics is a pre-requisite for CEE 3304 – Fluid Mechanics. Therefore, the student must earn a D- or better in ESM 2104 in order to enroll in CEE 3304 in the following spring (or later).
- It is the fall semester and a student is taking CEE 3304 Fluid Mechanics. Student plans to take CEE 3314 Water Resources Engineering following that fall semester. This student must earn a D- or better in CEE 3304 in order to enroll in CEE 3314.
GPA
Remember, students must maintain an in-major GPA and an overall GPA of a 2.0 or better in order to complete their degree requirements. It is possible to have a D grade for an in-major class, as long as the in-major GPA remains above a 2.0.
