Adrian Rodriguez-Marek named Fellow of ASCE
Adrian Rodriguez-Marek has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This honor recognizes outstanding professional distinction and reflects exceptional contributions to the civil engineering field. Rodriguez-Marek is a Professor and Director of the Center for Geotechnical Practice and Research and is recognized for his exceptional contributions to geotechnical earthquake engineering.
Advancing Geotechnical Earthquake Research
Rodriguez-Marek’s research focuses on improving predictions of earthquake-induced ground , including the incorporation of site effects and surface topography. His work also addresses the prediction earthquake-induced liquefaction within a probabilistic framework, providing critical insights for earthquake-resistant design and risk mitigation.
He collaborates with colleagues such as Dr. Russell Green on innovative methods for liquefaction analysis and has contributed to major studies on seismic hazard analysis, including several projects for nuclear power plant installations and a large study on the risk associated with the Groningen gas field.
Dedicated Educator and Mentor
In addition to his research, Rodriguez-Marek teaches a range of geotechnical and earthquake engineering courses, including Earth Pressures and Foundation Structures, Risk Analysis in Geotechnical Engineering, and Natural Disaster Mitigation and Recovery.
