Hokies at the 105th Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting
The 105th Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting recently brought transportation leaders from around the world to Washington, DC, creating a hub for ideas, collaboration, and forward-thinking discussions. As part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, TRB plays a vital role in mobilizing expertise to anticipate and solve complex transportation challenges. Each year, its work engages more than 5,500 engineers, scientists, and practitioners from the public and private sectors and academia, all contributing their knowledge in the public interest. Supported by state departments of transportation, federal agencies within the U.S. Department of Transportation, and other invested organizations, TRB continues to help shape the future of transportation.
In between technical sessions and panel discussions, Virginia Tech alumni, students, and faculty took time to connect with fellow Hokies. These moments of conversation and networking highlighted the collaborative spirit that defines Virginia Tech with shared experiences, professional insights, and a common commitment to innovation coming together to advance transportation research and practice. Hokies continue to play an important role across the transportation field, working as researchers, engineers, planners, and policymakers who are helping to design safer, more efficient, and more sustainable transportation systems for communities nationwide.
